Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm (Stiy̼ /ˈsʊgʃe/ [bunch] [bench]) is a subtropical Small City located in the Quiegsan Region of the Tetburland.

The name Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm is derived from the Sylvin language, as Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm was founded by Dyënh, who was culturaly Tauran.

Climate

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm receives an average of 186 cm/y (73 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm covers an area of nearly 15 km2 (6 mi2), and an average elevation of 4646 m (15242 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm was founded durring the late 16th century in summer of the year 1481, by Dyënh. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm is was constructed arround several spacious packed earth mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The city is the proud owner of a proper castle-style stone wall complete with all of the trimmings. It has towers, a moat, gatehouses, drawbridges, and even merticulationsshortsizeleadershipname.. Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's perhapse unnessisarily well built defences are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Right off the bat Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this city has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's natural decorations nor waterways.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's citizens locals enjoy many vices and lustful appetites. They may have religious sanction for their deeds, or neighbors might trade with them for such things, or they could be followers of some ideology that blesses such pursuits. Their economy or their social organization is usually heavily reliant on such traffic, and to ensure its continuance they may have made bargains with various mortal and immortal powers.

Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm was attacked by savage selkiess living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm lost 110 people, 388 livestock, and 42 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 51, when members of Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's militia enacted an operation to assassinate an enemy faction leader. The operation was complicated by an outbreak of plague which struck the ranks, killing many and laying low many more. The conflict ended with the defense of the port against a siege, which ended in defeat for Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Stiy̼sùgshe Gíhm's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
